Joel McKinnon

Biography

Joel McKinnon, the owner and president of McKinnon Insurance, graduated from Ashland University in 2003 with a degree in Management/Marketing. During his time at the university, he played college football and was part of the Eagle Investment firm. It was here that he met Tricia Herzig-McKinnon, who would later become his wife. Before graduating from college in November 2003, Joel secured a contract with Farmers Insurance.

As the leader of McKinnon Insurance, Joel oversees a team of four full-time employees and has developed the largest Commercial insurance portfolio in Ohio. Since 2008, he has consistently been recognized as an Elite Commercial agent by Farmers Insurance. His accolades with the company include the Blue Vase, Life Masters, Topper Club, Championship, and Presidents Council awards. Joel is also well-known for his role as a social media speaker at various Farmers events and conferences nationwide.

Joel and Tricia McKinnon are parents to three children, Jack, Stone, and Klaire, and reside in Dover, Ohio. Joel is committed to his community, contributing through coaching and volunteering for local charities.
